A Message from the Chairman

With memories of a fantastic reunion and AGM, held in October, still at the forefront of my mind it is good to say hello to all Middlesex friends and alumni.

Members of MHNBF have not been able to meet up since before the pandemic and so it was particularly gratifying to find that we have lost none of our pleasure in getting together or commitment to our hospital. The guest speaker this year was Dame Sarah Mullally, Bishop of London, it was a great honour to have her with us and her talk was informative, amusing and thought provoking.

This year has seen MHNBF as busy as ever supporting our members when times become hard in this ever-changing world. Also making grants for members professional development. The ability to make a difference to people’s lives is a privilege that we value.

The Trustees continue to reach out to our members throughout the UK via the Link Nurses who maintain a personal link with members wherever possible. Networking brings members of all ages together, sometimes this is simply an outstretched hand of friendship.

We have a warm association with the former hospital chapel, now known as the Fitzrovia Chapel.

They have regular exhibitions there throughout the year and are open on Mondays, Tuesday and Wednesdays as well as some Sundays..

All that we do is a team effort, and grateful thanks is due to all the Trustees who continue to be dedicated to keeping the memories of The Middlesex Hospital alive, even though it is nearly 20 years since it closed. They all devote much time and skill to the association, and, for me, it continues to be an honour to be part of such an inspiring group.

With best wishes to you all.
